Research, precision, and empathy: the strengths
Chiara Armando's work is based on research, precision, and empathy, elements she considers fundamental for every project. She designs and creates tailored projects that reflect the identity of the place and the uniqueness of the client.
Nature and Architecture
She was born and raised in a small town in the province of Cuneo, where nature shapes the landscapes. From the beginning, buildings become her main expressive language. In 2010, she obtained a degree in Architecture (Environment and Landscape) from the Polytechnic University of Turin. She immediately started collaborating with VITACHIARAHABITAT s.r.l., developing a deep sensitivity towards sustainability. This path led her to receive a significant recognition for the renovation of a bio-architecture penthouse in the historic center of Fossano, winning the Architecture in Wood competition promoted by Lignus and IN/ARCH, which celebrates the best Italian wooden architectures of the last ten years.
Research and archaeology
Simultaneously, until 2012, she continued her research activity with the Polytechnic University of Turin unit at the Italian Archaeological Mission in Turkey, in present-day Pamukkale. This experience further enriched her design approach, combining architecture and archaeology.
International collaborations
Currently, she works as a freelance, both in Italy and abroad, with a particular focus on Greece, thanks to the partnership with the Design-Consulting-Construction company POLYERGO. The main work of this collaboration, the CRETAN SUMMER HOME, has received numerous awards and publications. Among these, the participation in the 10th Biennale of Young Greek Architect in Athens and the award at the BIGSEE_ARCHITECTURE AWARD 2021 in Ljubljana in the residential category stand out.
