The Architect's Profile

Born in Porto (Portugal) in 1974. Graduated from the 'Faculty of Architecture of the University of Porto' (FAUP) in 1998. Collaborated at Eduardo Souto de Moura's studio between 1996 and 1997. International university professor.

Residential Projects

His studio mainly produces residential projects such as the Valley House, João's House, and Afife's House, among others.

In 2008, he worked as a Team Architect for David Chipperfield Architects on a residential project at 'Bom Sucesso, Golf Resort and Spa', Óbidos.

Ancient bakery transformed into a residence, João's House in Porto

João's House is a renovation project in the old town of Porto by Guilherme Machado Vaz, which transforms a former bakery into a house developed on two floors, where the ground floor houses the social spaces and the upper floor the private ones
