Icona Architetti Associati
Via Lodovico Settala, 19, 20124 Milan MI, Italy
Icona Architetti Associati, founded in Milan in 2013 by Federica Poggio and Marco Orto, is an architecture and design firm inspired by the great Italian masters of the 20th century, integrating contemporary influences. Their design approach is both rigorous and deeply human, based on a continuous dialogue with the context and clients. Icona's architecture always originates from a sensory and physical interaction, rather than from a predefined language: each project develops its own grammar, shared and refined with the clients.
From masterplan to product design
Icona operates on various scales, from masterplan to product design, thanks to a flexible network of collaborators. At the core of their vision is a passion for materials, considered not only visually, but also tactilely: the concept of “Icona Touch” expresses this multisensory fusion, where materials, colors, textures, and moldings play a crucial role. Icona prefers original combinations, always respecting craftsmanship and the intrinsic qualities of the material.
Light shaping spaces and defining volumes
Light, for Icona, is one of the main materials: it shapes spaces, defines volumes, and also expresses itself through product design. The concept of luxury, for the firm, derives precisely from light (lux in Latin), which brings spaces to life.
Curved lines and fluidity
Another key element of their approach is fluidity: spaces are designed to be modular and adaptable, capable of evolving with the seasons and needs. This flexibility reflects contemporary living, in constant change. Fluidity and curved lines, recurring elements in Icona's projects, are tangible symbols of their design style, expressions of a concrete poetics that gives life to dynamic and ever-changing spaces.
