iheartblob

iheartblob is a multi-award-winning architectural design studio and research collective, founded by Aleksandra Belitskaja, Ben James, and Shaun McCallum, based in Vienna. The studio places a strong emphasis on the architectural object, drawing on philosophical and theoretical principles to explore new models of architectural thinking and construction. The work is intended to both enchant and reflect on the crisis of thought running through architecture today, investigating new and established ideas as if they were materials, tackling challenging themes while maintaining a certain distance from total immersion.

Each project delights in expanding new visual languages of architecture, where works are rarely presented in traditional plan and section, but rather expressed through objects in mixed reality, real-time renders, and custom-designed architectural software to reflect their Lagrangian derivations. Through the exploration of these means, the work always stimulates new discussions on the cultural, practical, and theoretical context in which architecture resides. The studio has developed numerous provocative proposals for international competitions and has exhibited its work worldwide, including at the Storefront for Art and Architecture in New York and the A+D Museum in Los Angeles.
