Innovation and Interdisciplinarity

OFL Architecture is an interdisciplinary architecture firm based in Rome, specializing in emerging design processes. Its methodology integrates architecture with other disciplines, redefining the relationship between the contemporary city and current urban conditions.

The firm was founded in 2008 by Francesco Lipari and, the following year, welcomed Vanessa Todaro as an associate partner. In December 2009, OFL Architecture presented its first solo exhibition in Sicily, titled CARNE.

Over the years, the firm's work has been exhibited and published internationally in prestigious institutions such as the MoMA in New York and the WUHO Gallery in Los Angeles. Among the numerous accolades received, notable are the Architizer People’s Choice Award 2014 and 2015 for the projects Sainthorto and Wunderbugs.

Architecture and Urban Vision

Francesco Lipari is a Sicilian architect based in Rome. In addition to leading OFL Architecture, he is the co-founder and artistic director of Cityvision, an innovative platform that promotes a dialogue between the contemporary city and its future image.

He has worked as a senior architect at internationally renowned studios, including:

  • Studio Fuksas (Rome)
  • MAD Architects (Beijing)
  • 3Gatti Architecture Studio (Shanghai)

Lipari was among the first architects involved in the Farm Cultural Park project, a socio-cultural initiative aimed at transforming the historic center of Favara (Sicily) into a contemporary art tourist destination, second only to the Valle dei Templi in Agrigento. Additionally, he manages the Pecha Kucha Night in Rome and contributes as an author to Wired Italia.

Vanessa Todaro graduated in Architecture in 2007 from La Sapienza University of Rome, in the Faculty of Architecture “L. Quaroni”. She worked as a design architect at Studio Fuksas in Rome, before becoming an associate partner at OFL Architecture in 2010.

Some of her notable projects include:

  • The Noise Barrier (Hong Kong)
  • New Andrea Palladio Headquarters
  • Silk Road Map Evolution
  • PontéPigneto

Todaro has also completed several small-scale projects, contributing to experimentation and innovation within the firm.
