Philippe SAMYN and PARTNERS, founded in 1980, is a private company owned by its partners and led by Ghislain André and Åsa Decorte, architects and administratrors in collaboration with its Design Partner Dr Ir Philippe SAMYN. With its affiliated companies FTI (founded in 1985), DAE (founded in 1994) and AirSR (founded in 2003), it is active in all fields of architecture and building engineering.
DESIGN APPROACH
The project process is a constant strive to assimilate in an optimalway the many factors to be taken into consideration, and to integrate them in such a way as to increase the architectural coherence of the project. Designing consists in making use of the many new understandings in the field of materials, ecology, structures.
Philippe Samyn and Partners aims to conceive intelligible and relevant constructions that transform complexity into clarity. Its architectural and engineering design approach is based on questioning, which can be summarised as a “why” methodology inspired by the client aspiration and the genius loci.
