Studio Evren Başbuğ Architects is an architecture firm based in Izmir and Ankara, founded in 2012 by Evren Başbuğ. The studio provides services in all fields and disciplines of design, with a particular focus on architectural and urban scale. The design team, young and dynamic, aims to create a critical balance between experience and experimentation, thus maintaining a consistently fresh design mindset.
Distinctive projects and accolades
Among the most notable projects completed by the studio are the Yeşilova Höyük Visitor Center and the Bostanlı Footbridge & Sunset Lounge. The latter received the National Architecture Award in the "Buildings/Public Space" category in 2018. The founder and creative director, Evren Başbuğ, has won over 20 awards in national architecture competitions, including 4 first prizes, and has received various professional recognitions from national and international platforms and programs.
Academic contribution and professional commitment
In addition to his professional career, Evren Başbuğ teaches as a part-time lecturer at the Faculty of Architecture at TED University and is a member of the Professional Committee of Architects at the Izmir Chamber of Commerce.
