JCI studio is founded on the desire to test creative ideas and build buildings to be proud of by bringing design to areas where it is often overlooked, and seeking in every project the opportunity to reexamine conventional solutions.
Every project, regardless of program, budget, or scope, is approached as an opportunity to achieve these goals. The studio uses position as a catalyst to explore regional identity and vernacular technique to create projects that embrace their context. Within the collaborative and open studio, the physical, urban, and sociocultural context of each project is rigorously examined. The culture and relationships cultivated within the studio, with consultants and clients, are fundamental to the success of projects as much as the strategies used for their design and implementation.
