LAAR is a Mexican architecture and design studio, founded in 2015 by Cecilia Alcocer and Diego Lizama. Based in Mérida, Yucatán, the studio stands out for its innovative approach to design, developing projects of conceptual and social experimentation that have received recognition at local, national, and international levels.

A contemporary approach rooted in tradition

The goal of LAAR Studio is to explore new architectural solutions that respond to contemporary needs, integrating sustainability, creativity, and a strong connection to the cultural and environmental context. The studio is known for its ability to combine minimalist design and traditional construction techniques, creating spaces that harmoniously blend with the surroundings.

Projects balancing functionality and aesthetics

Through an architectural language that balances functionality and visual identity, LAAR has developed a series of projects ranging from private residences to public interventions, always with a special focus on space quality and user experience. Each realization is a dialogue between architecture, landscape, and innovation.

Winter House: dancing volumes in untouched nature

Texture, volumes, fissures, spans that narrow or extend space according to needs: this is how the Winter House by LAAR in Yucatan presents itself, with spans of blocks emphasizing volumes that seem to dance next to each other.

Science Park, science and culture pillars for new life projects

Thanks to the Scientific Community of Dzán, a non-profit organization at the service of the most disadvantaged young people located in one of the oldest villages in Yucatan, Mexico, commissioned LAAR studios to build the Science Park, a pavilion that conveys a new reality
