Migliore+Servetto: elegance and light in the new collection of mirrors

First presented during the Milan Design Week 2024 at the MEET Digital Culture Center, in the heart of the Porta Venezia Design District, this collection of mirrors fits into a context of high craftsmanship and innovation. The company NEUTRA, specialized in working with marbles and natural stones, collaborated with the studio Migliore+Servetto to present the exhibition To the Edge of Matter. An Unforgettable Journey, a sensory experience that blends physical and virtual elements, in a journey to discover matter.

A journey between matter and light

The new collection by Migliore+Servetto stands out in the panorama of contemporary design with a timeless sophistication. The project marks an evolutionary chapter in the studio's research path, focused on the vibrations of matter, a theme explored since the Milan Design Week 2023. With this collection, experimentation continues through the skillful use of materials such as marble and metal, in a play of reflections that amplifies the perception of space and surfaces.

The collection: installations that interact with the environment

The collection includes three mirrorsDima, Vivera, and Cavo — conceived not only as functional objects, but as true installations capable of transforming the space. These pieces interact with the surrounding environment through an alternation of reflective surfaces and tactile materials, such as reclaimed marble, metal, and integrated lighting. The result is a perfect balance between functionality and a strong aesthetic value, which enhances the forms and surfaces of contemporary living.

Dima: geometry and three-dimensionality

Dima, with its dimensions of 200 x 80 x 15 cm, presents itself as a rectangular mirror with a geometric design. The frame, characterized by an alternation of voids and solids, is enriched with inserts of reclaimed marble, varying in number and size (from 3 to 7), giving depth to the object. Grazing lighting enhances the three-dimensionality of the frame, making Dima a dynamic and sophisticated furnishing element.

Vivera: monumentality and functionality

Vivera, with a diameter of 175 cm and a depth of 20 cm, is a monumental circular mirror. This object stands out for the presence of a storage compartment hidden by a 190 cm long cipollino marble handle, which reveals a sliding door. Vivera is equipped with an integrated lighting system composed of three sources: a direct light for the face, a grazing light that illuminates the compartment and the marble, and a scenic light that defines the perimeter of the object. This combination creates a theatrical and refined atmosphere, perfect for environments seeking a balance between aesthetics and functionality.

Cavo: simplicity and sophistication

Cavo, also with a diameter of 175 cm but with a depth of 15 cm, is characterized by a large luminous disc embellished with a 40 cm diameter metal hemispherical cap, housing the main light source. Like in Vivera, a LED strip positioned at the back enhances the diffused light, creating a enveloping and sophisticated effect. Cavo is an object that combines simplicity and innovation, enriching the space with its luminous presence.

Materials and vibrations: the art of Migliore+Servetto

The strength of this collection lies in the ability to combine traditional materials with innovative solutions, creating objects that are works of art. Marble, with its unique veins and solidity, interacts with metal and light, creating tactile and visual vibrations that are reflected in surfaces and environments.

The versatility of the furnishings allows these mirrors to adapt to different spaces in the home, from the living area to the bedroom, enriching each environment with their scenic presence. The integrated lights not only illuminate but also create accents and pauses, adding theatricality and depth to the spaces.

A new theatricality for living spaces

Migliore+Servetto's collection of mirrors is a tribute to elegance and sophistication, where every detail is carefully designed to enhance living spaces. Through the skillful use of materials and light, these pieces become the focal point of the rooms, giving them a new theatricality.
