Playful design for a hotel in China. Coloured graphics become the protagonists of the spaces
X + Living designs the Magic Hotel located in Huzhou, China, a place between playful and functional, where spaces are designed mainly through graphics, inspiring children's entertainment and playfulness, but also taking into account the needs of business people
Based on the different functional areas, the designers have included entertainment areas. The reception hall, as the main rest area for guests, is the most interesting place, with a very rich graphic and colourful design. The designers have set up public areas as a children's entertainment space. According to the different groups of people interacting in the space, the loudspeaker devices in the lobby have different sizes, which means that children and adults can participate in the interaction
Mindful of the fact that the lift has been made available for adults, for children who like to jump, the designers have created slides. On the fifth floor we can find the tree house that can satisfy the exploratory desire of children. At the same time, there are also two bookcases next to the tree house to meet the entertainment needs of older children
From the lobby area to the guest room area, entertainment facilities gradually decrease, more for noise management and concentration of people. The combination of rainbow graphics and speakers separates different spaces. The bright colours also remind guests that they will enter another space. Public corridors create a sense of paradise with bright colours and geometric figures. The style on the room doors echoes the design of Menphis
