In the heart of Trieste, in Via degli Artisti, a project to restore a prestigious building that had been abandoned for many years has been completed. This ambitious and complex project involved transforming a historic property into high-quality apartments and a modern accommodation facility, while preserving the original architectural integrity.
The recovery intervention had to face significant challenges, one of which was ensuring excellent acoustic comfort. The choice to use a wooden floor, to avoid overloading the structure, made the situation even more complex than usual standards. It was necessary to study a tailor-made solution to ensure acoustic comfort, without compromising the thicknesses specified in the project.
To meet these needs, the REWALL 28R panel has been proposed. This acoustic insulating panel offers superior floor insulation compared to traditional underlays. In addition to providing excellent sound insulation, REWALL 28R features optimal thermal transmittance that facilitates the installation of underfloor heating pipes, preventing thermal dispersion. This innovative solution has allowed maintaining the aesthetics and lightness of the wooden floor, while simultaneously improving the acoustic and thermal performance of the building.
The post-intervention acoustic surveys have shown exceptional results. Footstep noise levels have been reduced to less than 50 dB, while the sound insulation power has exceeded 64 dB for wooden floors. These results not only confirm the effectiveness of the solution adopted but also surpass the initial predictions, demonstrating the added value of the REWALL 28R panel.
The REWALL 28R panel is a high-performance acoustic and thermal insulation anti-impact panel, made of pre-coupled panels of polyester fiber and SBR rubber (Styrene Butadiene Rubber). The main features include:
