The system for creating an already insulated ventilated crawl space
The IsolCupolex® system is designed for the construction of a ventilated crawl space, with a height ranging from 11cm up to 250cm, and can be adapted to any type of surface using specific accessories. The system components, made of EPS Twinporm™, are insulating and act as formwork for the concrete pour. The formwork remains in place, ensuring not only high thermal insulation, but also high load resistance for the structure and an empty space below for ventilation or potential installations.
The insulated Isolcupolex® crawl space has the insulation layer facing downwards, towards the colder part, while the concrete structure is located above the insulation layer, towards the warmer part. The ability to vary the thickness of the insulation and the presence or absence of the subfooting allows for adjusting the technical transmission levels according to specific design needs.
The different possible configurations of the IsolCupolex system, considering the standard dome with a nominal height of 8.5 cm and insulation thickness of 7.3 cm, are as follows:
⦁ ISOLCUPOLE + CORONA: insulated crawl space with a minimum thickness of 11cm
⦁ ISOLCUPOLE + CLOSED/OPEN TRAY: insulated crawl space with a minimum thickness of 13.5cm
⦁ ISOLCUPOLE + INSULATING FOOTING + SUBFOOTING + PLUG: height from 17 cm to 58 cm.
⦁ ISOLCUPOLE + INSULATING FOOTING + TUBE + BASE: height from 58 cm to 250 cm. For heights greater than 58 cm, the use of the tube allows raising the crawl space to the project level without additional thermal bridges.
In terms of application, the ventilated crawl space and thermal insulation of the insulated IsolCupolex® crawl space can be constructed in a single construction phase, reducing time and costs. Its stratigraphy and geometry allow the load to be transmitted to the system's support base.
