The isolated EPS slab with concrete joists cast in place
KALDO represents the isolated slab of the Pontarolo System through the use of EPS TWINPOR®, a material with high insulating performance, with one-way concrete joists. Composed of custom-made fully insulating panels, ideal for floors or roofs, even sloped.
The insulating panel already has the shape predisposed for the joist formation, with measurements suitable for the project, and the insulation thickness under the joists can be adjustable according to the needs. The width of the panels ranges from 120 to 60 cm with custom length.
The panels are easily maneuverable and immediately self-supporting after placing the breakage props at the right distance, thus facilitating the work of the operators. They can already include spacers for the rebar cover, favoring the correct laying of the joist reinforcements and can be equipped with supports for dry finishing, where profiles will be fixed easily and quickly.
The already high thermal-acoustic performance guaranteed by the Kaldo system can be enhanced by combining other Pontarolo System technologies to achieve important certifications in the field.
An alternative to insulating panels are the "pignatta" elements in EPS, not self-supporting as they lack Z-shaped sheet metal. With these elements, it is possible to create bidirectional slabs with crossed joists, using the Kaldo Bidirectional thermal slab.
The Kaldo slab joists have a standard width of 12 cm and a spacing of 60 cm, but if needed, the insulating panels can be supplied already equipped at the ends with a section with widened joists of 16 or 20 cm width.
