Renovated villa in the South of France. Light connects the House all the way to the Garden

The villa located in Castelnau-le-Lez, in the south of France, dating back to the Nineties has been renovated by the studio (ma! ca) architecture improving the entry of natural light by enhancing the perspective from the atrium to the garden

The villa was built in the 90s. Its plan has very particular proportions: an entrance of 15 meters leading into the house and a linear perspective view that opens onto the garden

The shape of the package is a narrow rectangle and a facade, which is built directly at the edge of the plot and is blank. The kitchen was very dark because of a steel wall that separated the entrance from the garden, blocking natural light. Even the bathrooms were not functional and not very bright

The whole house has been redesigned: two bathrooms have been created, connected by a translucent window. The kitchen is now an important part of the house, directly connected to the garden area. It is the connection between the interior and exterior space

Walking around the house has become really pleasant: a green wallpaper in the long entrance hall reflects the external nature on its graphic scheme. Linda, Philippe and their three children can now fully enjoy the garden: the main inspiration and the central part of the design
