According to the client himself, this has meant that the design of this home does not only involve the physical plane, but reveals something spiritual. It is also due to the extreme attention paid to the atmosphere created between the sensitivity of the minimal but warmly natural interior design and the expert use of the views of the surrounding woods and lake

The poetic impact of both the perception of space from the inside and its external form is great for the Puisto Studio lake house. It results from passionate planning conducted in close collaboration with the client: the experiences of the place and of inhabitation, atmospheres, materiality and the nature of light are the starting points for the design which were identified as an almost philosophical approach well in advance of the actual design of the space
The Square House has been designed with a strong impact in terms of aesthetics and sensation, such as the use of natural light and a design of spaces that is not intimidated by darkness, but has turned it into strength: the building has places with a great deal of light and places where it is possible to crouch in the shadows according to the situation and mood
The building's position is strongly determined by the views of the surrounding landscape, so much so that the landscape itself is the most important element of the interior which is lively and constantly changing through the hours of the day and the season
The architecture consists of three square volumes that fit together. Inside the main volume is designed for daytime functions and the spaces are distributed fluidly without partitions, while all the services and the sleeping area are enclosed in a central block hollowed out by the functions themselves. Sunshades are integrated into the façade and alternate with large windows to create an interplay of light; the floor level of the living room creates the illusion of floating on the lake; and naturally processed interior and exterior wood gives a warm and silky feeling
The structure is made entirely of wood except for the garage and the wet rooms and the house is warmed by a geothermal system
