The "Akademia" high school, located in the Polish capital and designed by the Medusa Group architectural studio is a recommendation to revisit the principles of modeling school buildings which do not meet the needs of young people

The centre of the courtyard is occupied by a large grandstand, a meeting place that organizes the space
A canteen, which is more similar in style to that of a fashionable restaurant is open all the time, changing its functions from a canteen to a café with a reading room and a live art desk
The roof space is occupied by the garden, where there is the possibility to carry out activities related to biology, but also to astronomy, geography and physics
There is also the possibility to cultivate herbs such as basil, rosemary, thyme in these areas during the summer season to be used in the school canteen
The Hall looks like a wooden cave, with ambiguous, multifunctional and stimulating spaces and objects
One of the aims of the project is to let young people be the protagonists of the space and to let it be used in the way that they want it to be
The building is extremely sustainable, so much so that it has been awarded the Platinium level in the LEED eco-labelling programme
The design solutions are oriented towards low energy consumption and the use of ecological materials, such as the use of wood or recycled raw materials of regional origin
