Apartment AKH: a refuge blending Nordic elegance and Alpine warmth

The style of the AKH apartment, located in the municipality of Belluno, combines two cultures, the Nordic one of the clients and the Italian and Alpine one of the designer, tangible in the use of wooden elements, echoing the nature of the place, and in the modernity and elegance of the black furnishings.

Refined Renovation for a Holiday Home in the Nevegal Mountains

One of the architecture projects by architect Daniele De Bon is the renovation of a 140 sqm apartment, the AKH apartment, in the Nevegal mountains. The clients, a couple from Bremen, plan to use the apartment as a holiday home, especially during the winter season. The renovation, which does not excessively alter the internal layout, focuses mainly on creating a unique and distinctive style and adding a private windowed bathroom in the owners' sleeping area, as well as redoing the plumbing and electrical systems.

A spacious living area between dark elegance and natural brightness

The expansive living area of the apartment is organized into two distinct areas. On one side, the kitchen, bar, and dining table, all characterized by elegant black tones, give the space a modern and sophisticated look: black, chosen for its ability to add a touch of refinement, creates a bold yet harmonious contrast with the rest of the room. On the other side, the relaxation area opens up to lighter and brighter tones, offering a cozy and serene environment to relax and enjoy the wonderful outdoor view. To complete this atmosphere of intimacy and comfort, a corner fireplace warms the entire space, making the environment even more welcoming and suitable for a vacation home.

Comfort in the bedroom area: tailored space and functionality

A large and welcoming master bedroom, enhanced by a private bathroom complete with a walk-in shower and sauna, represents the focal point of the right wing of the apartment. The bathroom is enriched by a French door, allowing to experience the hot-cold cycle typical of wellness centers, offering a luxurious and rejuvenating comfort. The bedroom, intentionally devoid of wardrobes and dressers to maintain an essential and minimalist style, appears spacious and tidy. This result is made possible by the adjacent walk-in closet, cleverly created using the space of an old storage room, which helps to keep the environment clean and spacious.

The left wing: spaces dedicated to guests and family

The left wing, located behind the living area, houses a double bedroom for guests, furnished and arranged similarly to the master bedroom. The guest bathroom also follows the same elegant style as the master bathroom: the intention was to create homogeneity of spaces. However, the guest bathroom includes the addition of a niche, carved out from an old storage room, intended for the laundry area, where a washing machine and dryer are placed. Completing this part of the apartment is the small bedroom dedicated to the clients' daughter, equipped with a small private walk-in closet to maximize space and ensure practicality.

An encounter between Nordic style and Italian tradition with modern details

The style of the house originates from the encounter between two cultures: the Nordic one of the clients and the Italian one, with particular attention to the mountain context, expressed by the designer. The wooden elements, such as the floor, windowsills, and table, recall the surrounding nature, while the kitchen and bar are characterized by a top in natural stone. In the bathrooms, the stone effect is found, evoking the elegance and sobriety typical of Nordic countries. Overall, the apartment is modern and elegant, with black furnishings dominating the spaces, accompanied by lights, switches, handles, and other details, all in black.

A modern and energy-efficient environment

Despite the abundance of black elements, the apartment is flooded with natural light, thanks to the generous presence of windows and its orientation towards the valley, which ensures many hours of natural sunlight. Clients, during their holidays, will be able to enjoy a completely renovated apartment, with significant improvements in terms of energy efficiency and comfort. The spacious and optimized spaces make the environment even more usable and welcoming.
