In the Alila Yangshuo complex, the old and new are side by side. The old sugar mill and industrial truss occupy the central part of the hotel complex. The old materiality is not copied, but more contemporary construction methods and materials are chosen
Old sugar mill inspires a project. A resort surrounded by a picturesque natural landscape

Thanks to the hollow concrete block and cast-in-place concrete, the new concrete volume appears to be visually light and does not disturb the existing building, and also avoids unnecessary distortions to the old building through overly expressive geometries
As guests roam the hotel, they experience alternating light and dark and changing views of the framed landscape. The horizontality of the architecture contrasts with the verticality of the karst mountain, showing the interaction between man and nature
