Amsterdam loft, minimal architectural volumes

The client's desire was for a special private residence in Amsterdam. The goal of Studio Firm was to create a space that is honest, masculine, and architectural with as much usable space as possible. A sustainable, unique, and tailor-made apartment.

An interior design project that tells a story

The studio Firm specialized in interior design projects, aimed to surprise the client with a distinctive and conceptual house, developed in all aspects of a project. A unique living space where design freedom led to the creation of a special house that tells a story.

A Space designed to see the sky

The Firm studio has designed and created a conceptual living environment from scratch.
The journey through the apartment begins when you open the front door.
The living room is painted black and the old staircase is bare and minimal.
Above, a customized staircase in perforated zinc connects the apartment to the rooftop terrace.
The light from the skylight on the roof shines through the perforations all the way to the dark entrance. If you look up, you can see the sky

Large windows to allow natural light

At the top of the living room stairs, the view is directed outside through the sliding glass door, which spans the entire width of the building. The door's profile is hidden, creating the effect of a virtually frameless glass facade in a place where originally there were only two small windows.

Different volumes occupy different functional spaces

The living room is an open, light-filled space, connected to the main bedroom through a large sliding wooden wall.
To make the space as expansive as possible, the architects chose to place a single volume in the space.
All other functional areas such as the bathroom, toilet, laundry, and guest room are hidden within this reflective box. Access to it is made invisible by a revolving door finished in the same materials.
