The site on which the house stands is steeply inclined. Its shape is roughly reminiscent of the beach huts of the 60s and 70s, rational footprints with simple construction methods and the use of common materials.

In Australia, in Wye River, a small town in Victoria, a forest fire destroyed more than 116 houses in 2015. The design of the modest housing, carried out by the Australian architectural studio mgao is the reconstruction of one of these houses.

The building from the outside seems to be impenetrable and the black colour complements this feeling of closure. The interior, on the contrary, opens up to reveal a splendid view of the ocean and the village that can be viewed through the trees.
