Mindset of Aria Hub in Milan, how to design a Cohousing

Aria Hub is the new home for students in the Ortica neighborhood in Milan, located at Via Pitteri 7. A Cohousing project in one of the most authentic and vibrant areas of the city, characterized by redevelopment initiatives related to the world of art and design curated by Dainelli studio.

A building to share

The project by Dainelli Studio for the Aria Hub involved the entire structure: a building from the early 1900s developed on four levels.
On the first floor, the Cohousing hosts a common lounge with study and chat areas, and a shared laundry room.
The upper floors each house two apartments, for a total of eight residences with different sizes and layouts capable of accommodating from two to four students.
To emphasize the strong connection with the city, each home has been named after a zone in Milan: Sempione, Cairoli, Isola, Gioia, Navigli, Brera, NoLo, and Tortona.

Functional and essential low-budget spaces

The goal of the interior design projects by the studio was to create personal and customizable homes, designing environments with a strong aesthetic value while respecting the constraints of a low-budget project.
The definition of spaces, guided by a principle of essentiality and functionality, marks structurally similar areas with different colors, used for ceilings, fixed furnishings, and kitchens.
The ceiling in particular, with a different color for each bedroom and embellished with gypsum rosettes, represents one of the stylistic features that identify the Aria Hub.

Original Materials and Custom Monoscope Design

In the choice of materials, designers follow a conservative approach, creating a mix of stones, parquet and existing period tiles, alongside the new collection of ceramic surfaces Monoscope designed specifically by Dainelli Studio for Ceramica Bardelli.
Monoscope was created by the creative duo for Aria Hub and then launched as a true brand novelty in September 2021.

Furnishings: modern antiques and custom-made

For the furnishings, the designers have studied a combination of modern antiques and custom-made pieces, complemented with iconic design objects.
With Aria Hub, Dainelli Studio has developed a new community project, with the aim of contributing to the enhancement of a rapidly expanding neighborhood like Ortica.
