Aura Homes: a new standard of livability

In the lively city of Milan, in Crescenzago, stands Aura Homes, a residential complex that redefines housing standards in terms of sustainability and quality of life.

Architecture and Sustainability

Designed by architect Deborah Scola in collaboration with engineer Maurizio Colombo of MC Engineering, this building is among the architecture projects that meets modern needs and anticipates future environmental and social requirements. Aura Homes stands out for its L-shaped structure, harmoniously integrated into a former industrial area transformed into a green space, part private and part public, in compliance with the Detailed Plan of the Municipality of Milan. The complex consists of two buildings of 5 and 6 floors, totaling 26 apartments, and a basement level with 42 parking spaces. 20.4% of the gross floor area (GFA) is allocated for affordable housing, promoting an accessible housing solution.

Energy Efficiency

Aura Homes is an example of a Near Zero Energy Building (nZEB), built according to the guidelines of the Casa Clima Agency in Bolzano and certified as CASA CLIMA GOLD. The innovative autonomous system of the building uses compact aggregated modules, capable of ensuring complete air conditioning and the production of hot water with very low energy consumption. During the summer, hot water production is practically free thanks to the efficient mechanical ventilation system and heat pumps, integrated with a photovoltaic system.

Innovation and Social Contribution

Aura Homes' sustainable architecture utilizes advanced air conditioning systems and energy management. The autonomous configuration of the systems ensures better efficiency, lower consumption, and optimal use of renewable sources. Gas is not used for cooking, further reducing CO2 emissions and promoting the use of renewable energies.

Green spaces and public areas

Aura Homes is a green microcosm that includes a private inner garden, an outdoor garden for public use, and a small square. These spaces, accessible during the day, create a common area for residents and citizens, enriched with stone benches and trees like the Aesculus Hippocastanum. The green areas are adorned with lawns, Lonicera, jasmine, Lagerstroemia Virginia, ornamental roses, and other plants, irrigated with water recovered from the building's geothermal system.
