Cadence Architects designs the project with the idea of bringing the garden inside the house as an integral part of the usable spaces. The large pergolas help shade the double-height space and eliminate glare effects, while the green wall reduces heat.

Reversed floor plan: the outdoor space is inside the Villa

Villa B One is located in a typical Indian neighborhood and borders a very busy street. The dense residential fabric of the neighborhood and the proximity of other buildings have led to the conception of a reversed floor plan, bringing the garden inside.

H-Shaped Building

Cadence Architects, an Indian design studio specializing in architecture projects that live within the context, starts B One from an “H”-shaped floor plan.
The structure wraps around an open-air courtyard in such a way that each arm of the house flanks it. The courtyard becomes not only the point of interest and main activity area, but also represents an exterior within the interior

Interiors that adapt to the garden

The interior of the house is designed to revolve around the life that takes place in the garden. The large pergolas help shade the double-height space and eliminate the glare effect, while the green wall helps reduce heat. The courtyard is an oasis not only for light but also a lung, where hot air escapes favoring the entry of cool air.

Reversed structure and visual identity

A white wall with a series of openings towards the main facade emphasizes the “reversed” nature of the house and a large overhanging roof appears to levitate above the structure. A “sculpted” object nestled between the roof and the ground below gives the residence a strong visible identity from the street.
