Surreal themed spaces enhanced with aromatherapy and music to satisfy all senses

Li Xiang is internationally recognized for her visionary interior design projects with a fantasy and surreal aesthetic. Through her studio X+LIVING, she creates themed spaces for the Beijing Meland Club Flagship Store, complemented by an exclusive aromatherapy and music concept to satisfy all senses involved in the experience. The project tells the tale of a loving carpenter who, through his skilled hands, brings back to life 60 extinct animals; in this dreamlike world, we can encounter them again, in the form of mechanical creatures

Design to awaken love for all living creatures and nurture the relationship with nature

The project focuses on the inclusion of rich narrative details that not only make the game fun but also have a significant educational impact. From the concept of space to the smallest design details, everything communicates X+LIVING's strong commitment to environmental conservation. The designers aim to offer children an experience that nourishes them, allowing them to learn a responsible and sustainable relationship between humans and nature, fostering in them the same love for all living creatures that permeates the work of Li Xiang and her team

Colossal three-dimensional installations in a fantastic sense of unreality

An enormous three-dimensional facade projects into the fantastic dimension; a metronome marks the magical moments between parents and children gently reminding of the fleeting nature of time; a colossal butterfly flutters above the reception; colorful colonies of corals emerge from the ceiling and giraffe heads from the walls... The Beijing Meland Club Flagship Store is a collection of three-dimensional installations that amaze at every glance, amplifying the fantastic sense of unreality in an innovative "mechanical aesthetic". The interconnected space seems like a magical world where incredible portals project guests into other dimensions

A tea party in Wonderland

At the Beijing Meland Club Flagship Store, the mechanisms of the installations create space by segmenting it into geometric rhythms and the aesthetics of symmetry resonate in every detail. The designers have done a great job of studying and innovatively designing the movement mechanisms of the creatures that populate the park. Even the auxiliary spaces are designed to continue the fairytale experience: illustrations of extinct animals on the walls, inclined mirrors, and rotating lamps make you feel like you've stumbled into a tea party in Wonderland rather than the restroom
