Initially the chapel, although in a state of neglect, continued to manifest its solidity, pending for future use. After the renovation, the building presents itself with completely white, abstract and scenographic walls, thanks to which a sort of religious spatiality is staged

The chapel, located in a small Portuguese village, near the village of Ansião, was renovated by Bruno Dias Arquitectura, who guarantees a contemporary intervention whilst respecting the existing heritage and its architectural nature
The project is developed alongside the villagers, in such a way as to be inspired by the previous experiences lived in the chapel, which are restored in its monumentality. The materials used consider the maximum comfort that can be guaranteed to its users
The original stone floor is removed and replaced with a pine wood floor, which creates a harmonious environment. The new spatial configuration modifies the relationship between the emptiness and what is built, also due to the particular use of lights, transparencies and great perspectives
