The property, which was built under the "1921 Affordable Housing Act," had undergone a significant layering of interventions over the course of 100 years. This overload of changes, far from showcasing the essence of the place, distorted it, making it difficult to interpret and perceive its inherent value
Architecture strips down and reveals the beauty of the past at Casa Cientoonce
The project for Casa Cientoonce stems from respect for early 20th-century Madrid residential architecture: the house to be renovated belongs to one of the valuable residential colonies that took place in Madrid during the first quarter of the last century

To breathe new life into Casa Cientoonce, the architects from ZOOCO ESTUDIO stripped down the interior of the house: they had several false ceilings removed, unveiling some magnificent Catalan vaults, not as common in Madrid as in other Spanish regions. After meticulous restoration, these vaults will define the character of the renovation, historically positioning the property in its rightful place
On the other hand, the apartament renovation project aims to showcase the masonry character of the building by restoring its original paths. Materially, the project speaks for itself; the original brick is complemented by the oak wood of the floors, furniture, and carpentry, paired with the white paint of the walls that serves as a general backdrop in all rooms
