House Clemente, the sensory experience of architecture and memory

Casa Clemente is much more than a residence: it is a sensory and cultural experience that intertwines design, architecture, and memory. Located in the heart of Mexico, this home draws inspiration from Mediterranean traditions and architectural details from around the world, creating a unique, relaxed environment immersed in nature. Every corner tells a story of travel and authenticity.

Aesthetics and Architectural Inspirations

It is not easy to determine where the aesthetics of Casa Clemente come from, a perfect mix of organic, rationalist, romantic, and eclectic styles. Thanks to the designer Juan Carlos Loyo Arquitectura, recognized for the sensory approach in his architecture and design projects, Casa Clemente and its decoration employ elements inspired by various world architectures, gathering vernacular details from Mediterranean villages. The imperfect walls and the exposed brick texture recall rural areas, while the Portuguese porch, the central garden in Novohispano style, and the wooden structures harken back to Japanese houses and modern constructions in Latin cities, just to name a few. Pergolas with organic shapes create natural shadows, like leaf designs, evoking the experience of sheltering under foliage, inviting to enjoy the warm climate that envelops the landscape.

The roof: distinctive element

The most characteristic element of Casa Clemente is the gabled roof, which covers all spaces with a unique geometry and is painted black. An oculus, a typical element of Querétaro's colonial architecture, allows the external admiration of the particular roof structure, characterizing the aesthetic elements of the house and creating a dialogue with those about to cross the entrance door.

Materials and finishes

The finishes of the surfaces in the house are extremely diverse and heterogeneous: textured fabrics, rough lime-based plasters, red bricks, exposed concrete, oxidized steel, black marble, and local stones. The eclectic combination of materials is intended to welcome any object in this house, weaving the complexity of facets through a moving narrative that travels among its elements. Every wall and every piece of furniture seem to tell a story, suggesting the journey that each object has taken before reaching its current place. The spaces are also surrounded by books, glass windows, and curious objects; lamps hang freely from the ceilings, cables draw curves that break the visual compositions, always creating something interesting and new for simplicity and originality.

The philosophy of Casa Clemente

Casa Clemente is born from travels and encounters with the world, with cultures and history absorbing their essence and transporting their influences internally. A place where traveling means returning and building a personal universe.
