In the "Casa Rampante" room, there is an important collection of African art, displayed on wooden furniture. With the intention of converting the villa into a cultural foundation in the future, the owners have wisely chosen to build the villa in a quiet neighborhood of San Paolo.
Social spaces are the exhibition space of the African collection, where art meets everyday life, represented by objects of domestic life: chairs, armchairs, tables, highlight the artworks and the architecture of the house.
The living area is connected to the first floor by a 25-meter long ramp: in addition to ensuring fluidity in circulation, by interposing itself between the collective and intimate areas, the ramp organizes the internal architectural background allowing to observe the spaces from different perspectives.
The material coherence and the use of large sliding glass structures create a radical spatial continuity between interior and exterior, generating a covered-open living space. The wooden facade bends inwards, becoming the cladding of the ramp room, transforming from an external facade to an internal facade.
The three-dimensional construction with slatted wooden facades determines the structure and volumes of the house. The pillars, distributed within the interior space, complete the structural system and allow for large windows. The environment appears austere and minimalist, made of raw and natural materials.
