The new residential building with a distinctly modern character fits into the agricultural landscape among the hills not far from the historic center of Bassano del Grappa, a town in the Veneto foothills.

An architectural project between nature and modern design

In the agricultural landscape of Bassano del Grappa, the architectural project of the Bassano Country House, designed by Architect Dario Scanavacca, elegantly blends in with the hills near the historic center. This example of modern architectural projects stands out for its contemporary design and integration with the surrounding environment. The structure is designed to interact with the context, combining functionality and visual harmony.

Architectural composition and private courtyard

The house is developed around two single-pitched volumes, connected by a flat roof element that ensures their formal unity. This configuration creates an elevated private courtyard above the ground level, offering a privileged view of the landscape. The central element, a pool, completes the composition and adds a touch of sophistication. The two volumes house the living area in the northern body and the sleeping area in the western volume, with staggered floors that enrich the distribution of spaces.

Relationship between interior and exterior and climatic comfort

The orientation of the building towards the southeast emphasizes the connection with the landscape, thanks to a large window in the living area that ensures visual continuity between the interior and exterior. The north and west facades, on the other hand, are more closed and protective, with smaller windows that provide privacy and climatic comfort. This layout not only protects the house from northern winds and summer overheating but also allows for balanced natural lighting in the interior spaces.
