The project involves an apartment in Barcelona, in the Gothic area, historical part. A challenge was the very complex layout, regularly interrupted by several light patios and the lack of lighting. An important facade faces Banys Nous street with windows and balconies and a large living space is chosen in this area
Apartment in the centre of Barcelona. White is used to give light to the interior spaces

For better circulation and lighting, the bathroom and kitchen space, two bright white spaces that formed a white cross within medieval walls are plastered white. In this way a luminous centre is created, while the rest of the space, walls and ceiling, are left in their original state
The white space in the middle becomes an important point inside the apartment and everything outside becomes the outside space, as if it were a different landscape. The overlap between old and new is important and emphasized by light
The apartment can be equipped with a loft that can accommodate three bedrooms. The other rooms have been left almost intact, and a large structural wall separates the sleeping area from the living area, dividing the entire apartment into two distinct parts
