Raw iron and Calacatta marble in contrast

In retail projects, the importance of environmental comfort is comparable to the aesthetic result, and the studio bioprogettazionetarca works to achieve high quality in both areas. The furnishings of the new laundry room are all custom-designed and artisanally crafted. A floor made of 1 meter by 3 meter slabs of raw iron, skillfully connecting different levels, serves as a backdrop to the counter covered in Calacatta Gold marble. This contrasts with the rough surface and conceals inside it the cash register and the baskets for the items to be processed; a black workbench is attached to its side. The back counter is treated with a natural finish and remains framed by the existing structural elements emphasized by vertical LED lighting

Tailoring Furniture

Two types of coat racks are created to meet the periodic need for hanging clothes. To the right of the entrance, there is a unit consisting of two levels, one at ceiling height and one at half-height, connected by a raw iron element that conceals a tubular structure and the hanger sliding mechanism. The fixed unit on the left, instead, has a single level at ceiling height for long garments, while two wheeled modules at half-height are placed next to the black shelves for folded clothes. An opening from the public area allows a glimpse, behind the coat racks, of the washing and ironing area

Environmental comfort in the artisanal laundry

From the perspective of environmental comfort, the project involves total insulation of the building envelope: floor, ceiling, and walls. For the horizontal surfaces, a 12 cm thick polyurethane panel insulation was used, which, in the ceiling with a terrace above, is combined with a vapor barrier and a false ceiling for the passage of utilities. The walls are equipped with an internal 8 cm thick polyurethane coat, completed on the inside by a counter-wall made of a thermal-acoustic mattress of polyester fibers obtained from recycling plastic bottles and two plasterboard sheets

Air conditioning management and energy efficiency

To further optimize thermal comfort and energy efficiency, the artisanal laundry is equipped with a mechanical ventilation system with a high-efficiency heat recovery unit and a heat pump system with two splits for both summer and winter air conditioning. The existing showcase, already made with thermally broken aluminum frames and double glazing, has been preserved
