The architecture firm Evolution Design has transformed its Zurich office into a stimulating space that encourages collaboration, teamwork, and social interaction. The original structure is enriched with the studio's identity through colors, textures, graphics, and vegetation.
Following the Covid-19 pandemic, Evolution Design has decided to actively embrace the changes in the world of work by renovating its 300-square-meter office located in the center of Zurich. With its high ceilings and light-filled spaces, this space, originally a wing of the maternity hospital, through one of the interior design projects of the studio itself, becomes a stimulating place for creativity.
Creating a larger and modern kitchen was one of the key priorities of the intervention. By demolishing a wall, the dimensions of the kitchen doubled, creating a comfortable space, perfectly equipped to allow the team to cook and eat together, as well as offering a welcoming area with a relaxed atmosphere for social gatherings.
The open space has been divided with glass walls into three new areas, allowing the creation of a spacious sample library that can be viewed and discussed comfortably at the large central table. A new focus room offers four sit-stand desks immersed in a meditative atmosphere: a wall that turns into a forest thanks to the wallpaper, the carpet, and potted plants as dividers between workstations reconcile imagination and quality work.
In the focus room, it is not allowed to converse or make phone calls, activities that are dedicated to the standard work area, where teams can work side by side, and the two soundproof booths equipped with large screens for video calls. Finally, the central corridor has been transformed into the epitome of Evolution Design's philosophy: a lime green geometric ribbon that reflects the process of evolution, design, and creativity.
