Final Foam Home is an experimental house designed by i/thee, referencing patterns found in nature. Trees and caves were never meant to be dwellings, yet they can be adapted and designed to be thus, preserving a primordial yet contemporary design
Final Foam Home: the power of erosion to shape architectural space
Creative studio i/thee references patterns found in nature for a more primitive architectural experience and designs the Final Foam Home, an experimental home created by harnessing the power of erosion to generate architectural spaces

Through Final Foam Home, the design and construction of architecture similar to natural structures is investigated. The structure involves the juxtaposition of contemporary and primordial design languages that create a harmonious environment, in which a modern material is synthesized in a natural form. The architecture goes so deeply into abstraction that it becomes nature itself
The designers did not set out to create a building, but rather a primordial form that can be adapted into a building. The construction process began with the collection, reuse, and arrangement of EPS foam blocks into an eight by eight foot cube. Next, the foam was eroded through high-pressure water and sprinklers to form a small cave, capable of supporting a variety of programs and uses
