Flat Eleven: 50 square meters of comfort, functionality, and design

Flat Eleven is a small apartment in the heart of Florence completely reconfigured from its original condition, where the lack of square meters is seen as an opportunity, with cleverly designed compact spaces.

Two levels between light and measure

The apartment, spread over two levels, has undergone a radical transformation compared to the original configuration, in line with the most contemporary renovation projects. The new layout by Pierattelli Architetture aims to generate a strong sense of openness and visual continuity between the spaces. All custom furnishings have been designed to enhance the space and make each environment functional yet fluid. Dominating the scene is a large double-height space, where kitchen and living area blend under a large arch that defines their volumetric relationships and provides depth and measure. This architectural element becomes the beating heart of the house, giving it a strong aesthetic identity. The project stands out for its tailoring care and the choice of unique pieces which contribute to a coherent and sophisticated visual narrative.

Visual Connections and Structural Lightness

The upper floor, accessible via a cantilevered lacquered iron staircase, is dedicated to the sleeping area. Here, the glass balustrade allows for a direct visual dialogue with the lower level, maintaining continuity between the two floors. This separation element, thanks to its transparency, allows light to flow freely and makes the entire space bright and airy. The contrast between materials, such as the matte metal of the staircase and the shiny glass of the balustrade, is managed with balance, maintaining a sense of structural lightness. The organization of spaces reflects a fluid vision of living, where every design choice is oriented towards the search for harmony between form and function.

Natural Materials and Calibrated Palette

The project also stands out for a particular attention to natural light and the perception of spaces. The selection of materials and finishes is designed to reflect and amplify light, enhancing every corner of the home. Neutral tones, such as beige, warm white, and sand, create a soft and cohesive base, while more intense elements, like the blue wall and the matching sofa, introduce calibrated contrasts and focus attention on strategic points. This refined palette helps strengthen the feeling of tranquility and balance that permeates the entire environment. Every detail, from the texture of the materials to the color combinations, is intended to contribute to an intimate and contemporary living experience.
