Living by the Sea. A contemporary refuge for summer vacations

Horma Estudio's renovation of an old 1960s apartment transforms it into a contemporary refuge for disconnection and rest, freeing up space and restoring open sea views

The initial state of the apartment had too many compartments, making it impossible to interpret the space continuously and enjoy the sea views from any angle. Horma Estudio's project proposal consisted of minimizing the partitions and using a few carefully chosen elements, both in terms of size and materials

The concept of partition disappears to make way for only furniture that acts as a space divider. Curved geometries define most of the elements, creating movement and fluidity instead of pauses and edges. The main material for the renovation is maple wood, together with natural stone. A series of continuous tiles cover the space, giving it a unique character
