The architects of AGENCE © BERNARD BUHLER are involved in the various architecture projects that make up Fulton, with the aim of giving a strong personality and significant visual impact to the area while ensuring all constraints and the coherence of the future ZAC.
Consisting of a base that supports two distinct buildings in a wide urban fault up to 15 meters, the project echoes the nearby environment on different scales.
The lower part of the residential building ensures that the project lively relates to the Quai d'Austerlitz, thanks to the presence of a large projecting commercial window. The elevated architectural part gives the impression that the two emerging volumes are as if sculpted by a series of erosions. Thus excavated in depth, the volumes reveal a brilliant and vibrant materiality of glass: the balustrades of the balconies in dichroic glass reflect some colors and allow others to pass through.
Beyond aesthetic solutions, the challenge of the project was to give the non-built space the maximum extension to offer the most generous relationship possible between the Seine and the heart of the site. The project belongs to a very rich urban development plan, where the buildings are exposed in diagonal views, avoiding direct vis-à-vis. The folded forms of the Fulton continuously reorient the view, opening up to the most beautiful perspectives on the Seine.
