Inside the Certosa di Pontignano, a 13th century Carthusian monastery on the outskirts of Siena, the Supervoid architecture studio based in Rome, designed the "Garden Pavillion", a temporary structure located in the entrance cloister.
The pavilion is deprived of two of these triangular modules to make room for a central well in the cloister. A cypress also occupies a central position in relation to the pavilion
A regular grid of columns supports the sloping roof from which the cypress tree emerges
The inclination of the roof is average between the modest dimensions of the pavilion in the lower part and the arches, large and monumental and of the sixteenth-century portico
The space is defined, within its perimeter, by micro-perforated curtains that ensure transparency between inside and outside
