On the roof of a building in the Gracia district of Barcelona, the YLAB Arquitectos architecture studio gives a new life and a new look to a small residence, focusing on the living area

The apartment, of 38 square meters, is surrounded by a large terrace and enjoys a panoramic view of the other neighboring buildings
The space should be welcoming, versatile, functional, and equipped with all the comforts, giving priority to the spaces of the living area
The intervention includes a large living area, with an island that serves as a kitchen
At night, the living area becomes the sleeping area, thanks to the insertion of a retractable bed
Behind the kitchen, there is a more private space, consisting of the bathroom
All the space, walls and ceiling are covered with lacquer and veneer made of natural light oak: in this way the whole space is unified
The final result is a warm, bright space, where the apparent simplicity hides many small details
