The exhibit design project, managed by monovolume architecture + design for the trade show booth Suspended Folds, presents an open spatial continuity that welcomes visitors on a journey into three-dimensionality and materiality. A journey through a 1:1 scale display of the company's iconic fixtures
Exhibit design project Suspended Folds. A trade show booth conceived reflecting on the malleability of wood
Suspended Folds is a booth created for the company Heiss Fenster that loudly showcases the primary noble material from which window frames are made: wood. The traditional frame's wood bends to create a dynamic, boundless wave that spills beyond the booth
A sinuous and organic booth that rebels against the traditional concept of a trade show stand, the typical hollowed-out parallelepiped; here the design choice reinterprets the theme of traditional craftsmanship in a contemporary character thanks to the use of wooden slats, in light and dark shades, that harmoniously and rhythmically design a sequence of multiple folded sections
At the heart of the booth, between the flooring and the light ceiling, between the folds that descend and the folds that rise, lies the theme of the encounter: a traditional cross window that rotates on itself, allowing the visitor to observe it 360°, also capturing the depth of the threshold. The exhibition space also includes an open contact area and the display of two sliding windows, which combine together in a continuous space devoid of corners and edges
The alternation between the rigidity of the fixtures and the soft effect of the folds creates a perfect rhythmic balance. The entire project is characterized by sustainability: from the design, to the choice of materials, to the assembly, and its disassembly, designed so that it's reversible and reusable
