Enota’s Majestic Hotel looks relatively aggressive: this is due to the use of architectural elements from a certain period, which poses a strong, even distracting contrast to the smoothness of the access paths used by visitors to access the complex as a whole
A new look surrounds and transforms a historic Slovenian stud farm
Hotel Maestoso is the largest of all the accommodation buildings at the Lipica stud farm, with an appearance full of contrasts, with white fences swaying between the green tree-lined avenues and the remaining natural landscape
The key guideline in designing the renovation and expansion of the hotel was to find a way to attenuate the building's presence in space by dematerializing the built masses. The proposed intervention proposes to strip the hotel façade of all added architectural elements and unify the expression of the structure by establishing a new lightweight load-bearing structure for the balconies
The new structural membrane enveloping the entire hotel and pool area establishes a kind of intermediate space between the buildings and the landscape. The play of light and shadow breaks down the monolithic built masses and dematerializes the building as much as possible, giving it a distinctive and recognizable character
For a better connection of the building with the cultural landscape, the renovation also includes the elimination of the parking lot immediately in front of the building, transforming it into a park so as to gain space for the expansion of the outdoor covered terrace program . All eaves are also designed as a lattice structure
