House at Gualdo. Flexible furniture to modulate privacy and light

In the residential complex in Punta Ala, on the sea of Tuscany, Italy, designed in the 1960s by the architect Ludovico Quaroni, the interior design project of House at Gualdo is a reinterpretation of the holiday home that incorporates contemporary details in respectful coherence with the architectural context

A reinterpretation of the "beach house" theme with new fluidity

Supercake Studio, specializing in architecture, interior design projects, graphic and product design, oversees the renovation of House at Gualdo proposing a reinterpretation of the "beach house" theme. With great attention to the relationship with the outdoors, enhanced by two large terraces belonging to the apartment, the project involves optimizing the interior space to achieve new fluidity

Modularize the relationship between environments with movable room dividers

Furnishings designed to measure and movable provide the possibility to modularize the relationship between the living spaces of the house, creating various degrees of privacy and brightness. The living areas, kitchen, and dining room can be made permeable to each other at will thanks to the movable wooden room dividers perfectly integrated with the rest of the furniture and the essential lines of the apartment

A typical storage logic of the nautical world

A typical storage logic of the nautical world floats in the interior and aesthetically characterizes it: full-height wooden doors with retractable opening hide spacious storage compartments or other spaces. The white, honey-toned wood, and the latte-colored extra-large slab porcelain floor characterize the fresh yet welcoming tones of House at Guado

The light project gives a unique identity to each environment

In addition to some accents of color brought by furniture or details, the house is greatly characterized by the careful choice of lamps. Each environment and each function are studied in a detailed lighting design project to have the right light that is also aesthetically distinctive. Even the outdoor space, with furniture in various shades of pink, is treated with the same criteria as the interiors and becomes, together with the adjacent pine forest, a true extension of the house
