With the Parasite Urban Design project, studio B.L.U.E. revives the concept of a city which is lived in a spontaneous way by the individuals who inhabit it and pass through it. A parasite is by definition a creature living in a symbiotic relationship with another from which it draws energy
Parasite Urban Furniture for a city that has lived both creatively and spontaneously, just like a home
As inhabitants, we have gradually lost the impulse to experience the city areas as a community "external house", where we can live expressing the subjectivity of perception and use of public urban space
B.L.U.E. Architecture Studio, trying to avoid a model of the modern city where everything is organised and has a pre-established, confined space for any activity, has developed a new type of street furniture combining both individual daily life and public space in order to satisfy different needs and give some original, spontaneous vitality to urban life
From this idea comes Parasite Street Furniture, a type of multifunctional furniture that "parasites" the public space. People can use them without restrictions, by using their imagination and creativity. The aim of the designers is to reappear the 'home-city' that we have lost and to extend the private space to the public one
