Interior for House SC. Bring back the feeling of surprise into the house

Sincerity of materials and harmonious relationship between spatial elements

Nicoletta Binello and Paolo Gelso from the firm duearchitetti, authors of numerous interior design projects as well as residential and non-residential buildings, believe in an architecture that provides emotions to human beings and speaks of a beauty not subject to trends but created by the sincerity of materials and the harmonious relationship between spatial elements. They intervene at House SC, called upon to rethink its entrance

Intrigue by hiding and compress to expand

House SC is a residence in Varese where the direct entrance to the living area removed that sense of surprise that, according to two architects, every house should have. The new interior design introduces a large sliding panel that restores the dimension of the entrance, forcing people to choose the path either towards the upper floor of the sleeping area or towards the living room. The new movable partition intrigues by hiding and creates that compression of space that enhances the light and the spaciousness of the living area

A design that uses traditional elements in a new way

Connected to the entrance panel, a system of integrated containers in painted wood reaching full height repeats the same light and essential architectural language. These new volumes, homogeneous in color and formal characteristics, as they move, reveal the everydayness of familiar objects in a design that uses traditional elements in a new way. The wooden floor accompanies the living spaces of the house and a line in oak connects the living room and cinema room, unfolding as a support surface, desk, and contemplative seat
