The architects who worked on the renovation of the barn in Soprazocco di Gavardo near Lake Garda were Paolo Bussi and Elisabetta Piotti. The design choice to let the original functionality of the rooms shine through only by means of the chromatic shades used for the walls and floors

The idea behind the project was to take up the colours of the earth and then boldly use refined fabrics and furnishings with significant colours, in stark contrast to the linearity that characterizes the entire home
On the ground floor are the entrance hall, laundry area and guest room. The upper floor includes the living area with a distinctly contemporary atmosphere
Prior to the work, the first floor of the barn was a large room without some partitions and with two pillars positioned in the center that supported the roof: the first pillar was restored behind the shower, the second next to the isle of the kitchen. Both were however concealed
The bedroom had already been separated from the rest of the room. The design choice to follow the original open space layout has preserved the spaciousness and brightness of the room
The rooms are therefore outlined by the use of furniture rather than fracture elements such as internal doors or partitions. Solutions based on geometric modularity characterize the entire living area, which is current and functional in the clarity of its lines as well as in the high quality of its materials and in the quest for comfort
More feminine and relaxed atmospheres can be found in the master bedroom, where the maxi floral pattern of the wallpaper and curtains are turned into vintage. The task of giving continuity to the different rooms, harmonizing their materials and shades was conferred to the laminate floor, whose Castagna Oak decoration perfectly replicates the colours and veins of natural wood. This choice is ideal because it is capable of creating a comfortable and intimate atmosphere
The different areas of the house are interconnected thanks to very large openings that allow the environment to be airy. Architects Paolo Bussi and Elisabetta Piotti create a house with clean lines and structural features, a house in which they are bold in their choice of important colours with shades that contrast with the linearity of the house. The choice of damask fabrics for the curtains, water green, brown, cream and blue, the purple pouf in the living room and the wallpaper for the room has given a very strong character and personality that make this house unique and exceptional
