The project involves the creation of a commercial/bookshop complex offering the customer a unique aesthetic and lifestyle experience. The walls housing the books are 18m high and 240m long, amazing and pioneering and create a new image of urban commercial space in Xi'an and even in China

Located in the centre of China, Xi'an has been the capital of many Chinese dynasties, a place of great culture that continues to have the mission of "cradling" Chinese culture by incubating cultural and creative projects. On this basis, this bookshop is designed with walls covered with books on all four floors, creating a stunning and fascinating place
The project is located in an industrial area in the northern suburbs of Xi'an, which does not benefit from large amounts of human and commercial traffic. When Gonverge Interior Design took over the project, the existing architecture had been inactive for 3 years and totally unsuitable for attracting clients. Using the conditions of the site, the designers endeavoured to present the strength and beauty of the original architectural structure, characterised by the presence of plenty of natural light
Gonverge Interior Design began by designing the features of the existing site in a long, narrow south-north and four-storey high space, leaving an empty space in the centre that finishes with a glass roof that floods the space with light. This configuration of spaces allowed the designers to produce a strong experimental sense of space, reinforcing and highlighting the characteristics of the long, narrow site and creating a regular circulation system for visitors
The commercial space has been designed to be a hall of knowledge, for art and literature using the "book" as a common theme and unique centre of all environments. The walls extend from south to north with a height of 18m and a total length of 240m giving the commercial space a sense of rituality that astonishes and impresses visitors
With hundreds of thousands of books inserted, they are built with a steel structure and transparent glass, which allows people to see through and also allows light to diffuse and interact with spatial entities in various forms. The readers can walk through the walls full of books, in a place that enables the sharing of culture and aesthetics, making it an ideal stage to host creative and design brands to showcase their creativity and ideas
