The hiking refuge Le Haut Perché, designed by Studio Weave, in close collaboration with Bruit du Frigo and Zebra 3, is one of eleven permanence refuges that follows the pedestrian path on the edge of Bordeaux
Enriching the magic of Bordeaux's suburbs: Le Haut Perché
The Refuges Periurbains project encourages the exploration of sites on the outskirts of the city through the design of a series of refuges: Le Haut Perché is one of them

These often neglected areas are being reevaluated, connecting city and wilderness: the suburbs are being reevaluated with all their magic. Each hut can accommodate up to 9 people, among woods and streams
Le Haut Perché sits quietly at the top of Bordeaux Jalle: the site is peaceful, lost in the heart of Le Parc des Jalles, accessed via a singular path that goes no further
Composed of weathered wood and steel, the shelter references the traditional water tower through its materiality and form. The arched platform captures focused sounds and views of water and forest. Each opening is composed to frame a particular moment, some to be experienced lying down, others standing or sitting
