The Mexican residential project Mazul consists of 50 villas: 125 square meters of internal space that incorporate the outdoor space, creating a spatial continuity that enhances the architecture characterized by simplicity and humility.
The architecture firm Revolution Architects, in its architecture projects for the site located on the coast of the community of Santa Elena El Tule, in Oaxaca, brings to life Mazul: 50 villas capable of offering a unique experience of connection with nature, where the luxury of the project is the beauty of the site.
The project consists of three intersecting modules: the public area, the semi-public area, and the private area, including a bedroom, a bathroom, a living room, a kitchen, and a terrace with a private pool. Each villa is carefully positioned within its plot in such a way that privacy is ensured and the villas do not obstruct each other's views. The villa design focuses on creating naturally ventilated and well-lit spaces, capable of ensuring internal comfort.
The architecture is designed to seamlessly integrate with the environment, using affordable materials and respecting the limited budget. The site is a great source of inspiration for the villa's design, both in the choice of materials and finishes.
The load-bearing walls of the Mazul villas are made of reinforced concrete mixed with a sand-toned dye from the site, while the remaining walls are built with bricks and covered in sand, also from the site.
Although the color of the walls is the same, the materials are different and, consequently, the textures also appear different: some are smoother, others rougher.
