An apartment already inhabited for years by its owners undergoes "surgical" interventions to reorganize the space and optimize comfort, giving life to the FONT project
The NOOK Architects studio, in the FONT project, is responsible for its client's house renovation following the principle that change is not always synonymous with improvement: the dwelling, already satisfying the clients' needs in terms of layout, is intervened by the designers with targeted actions to improve energy efficiency, acoustic and thermal comfort, and the functionality of existing spaces
In a complex apartment geometry, minimal intervention is made on the distribution by creating ideally a new volume identified by the finish in blue hexagonal tiles, where the kitchen with dining area and the bathroom find a new characterization that acts as the pivot for the renewed image of the apartment. This core becomes the focus around which the space is ordered and organized; the corridor is equipped with a long white custom-made storage unit, extending from the kitchen space, increasing the storage space
The FONT apartment is thermally and acoustically insulated and a system of adjustable aluminum blinds allows to control the entry of light and heat from the outside. Along with the installation of new air conditioning systems, these interventions make the house more comfortable and improve its energy consumption. Ultimately, the intervention has equipped the house with greater containment capacity, through custom-made furniture in white and natural oak tones, more workspace in the kitchen, and a reorganized bathroom, characterized by the blue of the new ceramic coating
