A minimalist house in the heart of Křivoklátsko

In the picturesque village of Zbečno, nestled in the protected area of Křivoklátsko, stands a house that blends past and present in a harmonious embrace. Where once stood a 1950s summer house, now lies a beautiful, simple, and minimalistic family home. This architectural marvel was born out of respect for strict local regulations, which prohibit new constructions and mandate not exceeding a maximum built-up area of 50 m².

A new life for an old garage

The only original element that has been preserved is a garage, now transformed into a practical technical room. This old garage has seen a new house rise above it, supported by wooden beams and pillars on solid concrete foundations, a creative solution to overcome the sloping terrain that characterizes the area. To maximize natural lighting, the house has been strategically positioned at the furthest distance from the slope, creating at the same time a covered outdoor space at the garage level, ideal for enjoying the tranquility of nature. This project by A.LT ARKITEKTI is a brilliant example of architectural projects that blend innovation and respect for the context.

Design and functionality: the hexagonal layout

The innovative hexagonal layout of the house is not just an aesthetic choice, but a clever solution to make the most of the western sunlight and offer breathtaking panoramic views. On the first floor, the entrance welcomes guests into an open living space that includes a modern kitchen and a laundry room with a bathroom. Going up to the second floor, you will find two cozy bedrooms, a functional office, and a bathroom, perfectly designed to meet the needs of a contemporary family.

Natural Materials and Sustainability

The customer's desire to live in a wooden house was realized through the use of KLH panels. This construction system not only allowed for a quick completion of the building, but also minimized environmental impact during the construction process. Inside, the panels, treated with oil, have become visible decorative elements, creating a warm and welcoming atmosphere. The outer walls, insulated with mineral wool and clad in untreated larch, give the house a natural look that blends seamlessly with the surrounding environment.

A dream come true

This minimalist family home is not just a dwelling, but a refuge that celebrates the harmony between architecture and nature. Compliance with regulations, innovative design, and careful choice of materials come together to create a space that offers comfort, beauty, and sustainability. In the heart of Křivoklátsko, this house represents the realized dream of a life in touch with nature, without sacrificing the conveniences of modern living.
